How the Process Works

  1. Apply online using the Home Repair & Care application.

  2. Application review and follow-up: A dedicated Community One staff member reviews your application and contacts you to verify information and schedule a home visit.

  3. Home visit and assessment: Community One staff visit your home to confirm eligibility and document repair needs.

  4. Project scheduling: If approved, Community One schedules the repair with a qualified licensed vendor.

  5. Repairs completed: A professional, qualified contractor completes the approved repair or replacement.

  6. Follow-up and feedback: Community One conducts a follow-up visit, documents the completed work, and invites you to share feedback about your experience.

After repairs are completed, homeowners are strongly encouraged to schedule a free home energy assessment provided by CenterPoint Energy. This assessment helps identify additional ways to increase energy efficiency, improve comfort, and further reduce utility costs.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
